October 2013

So Life has been interesting to say the least.  I've Spent the last few months going to Film Festivals, some that my film "Coffee or Tea?" has been part of, and some that I frankly just wanted to got to. What I have learned from this is that Mainly most short films have no reasonable endings. But I also realized how lucky I have been to have one short in three different locations (Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Appleton). That being said all Goals that are accomplished are always surpassed by someone else's goals. Point being a short i saw at the Milwaukee Film festival a few weeks ago. Im not going to name names but it was part of the obsession shorts there.

After this "Very Special" short came on the director came up and said those favorite words I love to hear "this was my first short I had never worked in TV or Film" followed by "we just were in Sundance".  As I tried to control my disbelief I thought to myself if this is what's in Sundance then what am I working for? Then I realized something very important, one never wear clothes you shop in at goodwill  to talk to a film festival audience. And two why am I letting this loser ruffle my confidence I Have had a fantastic year that most film maker's would wish for.

So after all of that I am proud to say that Coffee or Tea? final film festival will screen at the Milwaukee Short Film Festival on October 26 5:15 showing. There was even an article written about it in the Milwaukee Shepards online addition (link below). Even if there isn't a sundance ever for me I can hold my head up high and say that I accomplished more than most. and thats something.

Update on life

I haven't updated this thing in a while. So here is comprehensive look at what I have been up to. In 2012 I started working on a short film with a guy from new york. The title is "Coffee or Tea?" and we spent almost a year on it. In that time we had a whole resteraunt let us use its space till 3 am (two different days). We had a make up artist that had worked on the real house wives (and multiple other big name projects) and of coarse a fantastic crew that stood behind us the whole way. The result is getting in to two festivals so far, first being indianapolis (which I consider to be an accomplishment because not many small budget films get out of state film festivals on there first try) and Wildwood film Festival. so far there have been a lot of accomplishments this year. Even Milwaukee public Television promoted me to part time, instead of the contracted worker i had been for years, so things are turning up Tom.
